Etude de la vulnérabilité des eaux souterraines de la plaine alluviale du haut Sébaou par la méthode PRASTCHIM

Abstract

The population, industrial and agricultural growth result in increasing difficulties in the safeguarding of natural resources.Therefore, water resources which are an essential factor for any economic development are risky to be contaminated by human activities. The situation is more critical for countries with limited resources, drinking water, as in the case of Algeria.The objective of this study is to assess the vulnerability and the risk of pollution of water resources underground aquifers Sébaou region to better protection of these resources.To better estimate the vulnerability of water pollution, mapping method was used in this study to attest to the strength of the the result obtained by using method called PRASTCHIM presented under the form of numerical quotation systems based on the consideration of the different factors influencing the hydrogeological system. These methods affect a note that varies at each used parameter and a weight.In addition this reserch optimized by the Geographical Information system (GIS), in terms of modern organization and representation of the space-time data. The GIS made possible to digitalize the maps in order to make them updatable, adaptable and revisable, according to the new hydrogeologic conditions and the targeted objectives.
