Water hammer, characterized by fluctuations in velocity and pressure, is a major problem in the hydraulic field that occurs in pressurized pipelines. So, when designing a hydraulic system, one must take into consideration the risks that could arise from water hammer and provide the necessary protective equipment to mitigate it. In this study, we emphasize the importance of simulating transient flow to analyze the behavior of this phenomenon and determine whether the system can withstand it. Additionally, we assess the characteristics of the required protective equipment using the Bentley HAMMER software.en_US
