This study focuses on the assessment of the C-factor, a crucial element for estimating erosion in watersheds. To do so, we selected the Isser watershed, one of the largest in Algeria, covering an area of 4149 km², as our study area. We used an image acquired by Landsat 8 and applied a detailed analysis using the ArcGIS 10.8 Spatial Analyst tool to identify vegetation cover and calculate the C-factor. Additionally, to validate our approach, we employed two C-factor evaluation formulas. This research aims to enhance our understanding of C-factor assessment methods, with significant implications for watershed management and soil erosion prevention.en_US
