The scarcity of surface water in a hyper arid area as the oasis of In Ghar makes its management much more complex. The water of the basement remains the single source for the oasis. The discovery of foggara in this area facilitated the access to this water. And consequently its management became much simpler with the introduction of the traditions and the ancestral laws of division and distribution. The results obtained under the base of the surveys and the investigations which we carried out in 2013; showed that for nine centuries, the irrigation and water supplies have been ensured by 11 foggaras. In spite of the contribution of the new methods of water collecting which the output raised much more, these foggaras resisted to this concurrence, specially the foggara of Irsan. With a flow of 50 l/s, this will foggara supplies 400 families and irrigates 60 hectares.en_US
