Abstract: The issue of natural disasters, including specifically the hazard of floods, is one that humans cannot control, but efforts are made to minimize the resulting damage with the primary goal of preventing loss of human life. This represents a significant undertaking globally, and particularly in Algeria. The objective of this study is to determine the appropriate sizing of a hydraulic system to facilitate the passage of floods in SIDI MHAMED as they traverse the city of MFATHA, situated in the wilaya of MEDEA. To achieve this, multiple disciplines have been employed. Initially, a hydrological study was conducted to analyze precipitation patterns and quantify flow rates. Subsequently, a topographic and hydraulic study was performed using the HEC-RAS software for simulation purposes. Finally, a description of proposed development alternatives was provided to enable the selection of the most suitable option from both technical and economic perspectives
