Spillways are safety devices in dams. Their purpose is to manage the consequences of floods entering the reservoir, while minimizing the risks of overflow and the often-catastrophic consequences that such a situation would entail. Therefore, the present work aims at studying two types of spillway to allow the passage of floods through the BOUKHROUFA W. ELTARF dam in order to opt for the most optimal variant and make a civil engineering study of the latter. To do this, it is necessary to define all the geomorphological and climatic parameters of the catchment area, followed by a hydrological study of the dam site, and this allowed us to determine the design flowen_US
