The Algerian northeast has experienced devastating floods in the past decade due to rains of short duration and hugh intensity. The IDF curves represent an importance tool in the planning, management and prevention of storm risk. The objective of this study is modeling the intensity-duration- frequency curves for the northeast region of Algeria in order to predict extreme values for the prevention against floods. In this work we calculated the maximum intensities from rainfall data previously treated with Hydraccess software. The adjustment of maximum intensities of the series to calculate percentiles for return periods (2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 10, 15, 20 and 50 years) and for different durations (15, 20, 45, 60, 120, 180, 240 and 360 minutes) was performed with HYFRAN-Plus software. The results of the frequency analysis show that the series of maximum intensities fit well with the GEV law.The interpretation of the found IDF allow as to situate the area which are vulnerable to the risk of inondation in our region of study.en_US
