dc.description.abstractSpillways are indispensable tools for the control and measurement of free surface flow parameters and they are of various types and forms. However, the accuracy of the measurements and the ease of use vary from one type to another. Accordingly, the objective of this work is to study the reliability of weirs of different types which revealed to us, according to our experimental tests on a transparent rectangular channel, that triangular weir has the same application limits of Hyndrique on the one hand. On the other hand, it has been realized that a cylindrical weir equipped with an electric probe for a direct reading of the flow of which a power is adopted, seems to us the easiest to use.en_US
