Abstract: The sharing of wastewater and rainwater in a sanitation network between the WWTP and the receiving environment is done using storm overflows, the purpose of which is to protect the receiving environment and the city against flooding. In addition, intended to unload the network of a certain quantity of rainwater to react on the economics of a downstream network reduction project. Weirs are called upon to play an essential role, particularly in the design of unitary system networks. Storm spillways are designed and operated in a variety of forms and methods. Given the diversity of these formulas are also. In this study, we defined the different types of storm weirs used in sanitation and established a synthesis of flow laws, and then we studied their operation and their hydraulic diagnosis by SWMM software, using two simulation models and making a comparison between them.
