F curves characterize rainfall and represent the relations between the intensity, duration and frequency. These curves are used in the design of drainage systems and protection of the cities against the risk of flooding. The aim of this study is to draw and establish curves of intensity - duration - frequency (IDF ) for the North central region of Algeria and that using the homogeneous and stationary series data from 55 rainfall stations in order to determinate the regions where the intensity is stronger and also to make a comparison between the centre, the east and the west of Algeria.en_US
