dc.description.abstract | The Determination o f the position o f the hydraulic jump is very important; indeed it enables us to ensure the length o f the protection required for the bottom and the downstream banks of a dam. It's in this context that fits this study which was divided into two large sections, a theoretical part which defined the pheno menon and cited some previous work on the subject, and a second experimental part splitted into three main experiments invo lving a bottom valve and a spillway in order to create a hydraulic jump and study it position. The results showed that the nature of the control structure and the presence o f the thresho lds influence positively the jump which tends to shorten and dissipate more energy, relationships were proposed to this effect to facilitate the determination of this positio n. | en_US |
