The Mediterranean coastal areas are submitted to high climatic and human constraints. In the case of coastal aquifers, their vulnerability is enhanced by marine intrusion risks. In this study, we collect the results of a multidisciplinary study based on hydrodynamic, hydrochemical and isotopic approaches to the coastal aquifers of some Mediterranean countries to establish the state of marine intrusion in recent years. The study ains also to make a comparative analysis of the vulnerability of this phenomenon between the northern and southern shores of the Mediterranean basin. Through this modest research we have been able to highlight the gravity of this phenomenon at the level of the southern shore more than at the level of the northern shore of the Mediterranean.en_US
