Abstract: Water resources are overexploited, which has led to a great shortage of water especially in arid regions. This is why it is necessary to find other solutions to reduce drinking water consumption such as rainwater collection. Our objective is to minimize the effects of seasonal variations in water availability due to droughts and dry periods, avoid overexploitation of resources, especially groundwater, and improve the reliability of agricultural production. In this brief, we proceeded first by doing a bibliographic study, then we gave all the necessary notions concerning the collection of rainwater, and we ended with the design of a stormwater collection system in the case of an agglomeration and in the case of private property.
