dc.description.abstractThe purpose of this study is to determine the safety factor (determination of the state of the equilibrium of a dam) by the computer code PLAXIS. The numerical analysis also led to a model design (geotechnical properties, and fluctuations in the water level). This has been carried out to evaluate the sensitivity of the safety factor with respect to these parameters. The calculations are based on the finite element method using Mohr Coulomb. We investigated the stability analysis of the dam at Wadi El Abed (W.Setif), and verified that the dam is stable.en_US
