dc.description.abstractThe objectif of this study is to caculate the base flow index for the northern region of algeria, with an area of 227 740Km², using the computer program « BFI version 4.1». the study area consists of 15 watersheds in northern Algeria. The IEB technique makes it possible to identify, without taking into account the influence of the climate, any disturbance of anthropogenic origin which could affect the flow, it is used in studies of regionalization of ungauged basins,and to parameterize the influence of the geological conditions of a basic flow. This work aims in the first step to a bibliographical research on all the elements which from our work and give an overview of the zone studied. The second step is to present the methodology that allowed us to calculate the IEB, in order to interpret the results obtained which leads us to determinate the base flow due to groundwater discharges.en_US
