The estimation of precipitation statistics is a vast area that poses many challenges to meteorologists and hydrologists. Sometimes, it is necessary to see the value of extreme events for sites where there are few or no data, as well as their return periods. The extreme values of hydro-climatic variables are of particular interest ,especially in terms of risk. The estimation of the recurrence of extreme rainfall provides essential elements for the construction of infrastructures. As a result, a statistical analysis of annual maximum daily rainfall and intraday rainfall series was performed on data from 40 meteorological stations in north-central Algeria to map rainfall quantiles (T = 10 years) on different time steps (from 15 to 1440 minutes) by an Ordinary Kriging procedure that allows the passage of the point information to information covering the entire space of the studied area.Three map models were developed and compared to evaluate the relevance of the current use of extreme rainfall quantile maps only mapping estimated quantile values.en_US
