dc.description.abstractThe evaluation of friction factor is an important and crucial step in order to assess as accurately as possible the pressure drop, authors have proposed since the middle of the 18 th century a more or less accurate formulas to estimate that factor. This work provides an explanation of phenomena behind pressure drop as well as synthesis of the main used formula to estimate the friction factor in the pipes.en_US
