Abstract: The success of hydraulic simulations for water supply networks is related to the ability of numerical models to represent the real behavior of the hydraulic systems. To attend it, the calibration operation is necessary. The methods of this current operation aim to minimize the error between measured and simulated values of pressure and flow and other parameters , and this errors minimization is based on searching for the values of the parameters to be calibrated, including pipe roughness, and nodal demands. A method based on genetic algorithms automatically implemented by (Mike Urban) software was used, and it is conducted on a case study, which is presented in this thesis, in which the results were obtained, and roughly matches the data extracted from the control system and data acquisition (SCADA) of the water management society (SEOR), that provides real-time control of water distribution networks.
