In order to generate synthetic models of distribution systems, WaterNetGen introduces multiple functionalities, while keeping the same properties of EPANET. Its sizing capacity permits to assign pipe diameters that allow a network to satisfy velocity and pressure requirements at an inexpensive cost. This study offers a comparative analysis of a manual sizing (diameter assignment) under EPANET and an automated sizing (WaterNetGen), also under EPANET on the potable water supply network of SIDI MEKHLOUF (W. LAGHOUAT). The sizing of WaterNetGen is different from that of EPANET; the results are more accurate.en_US
