Abstract: The main objective of our work was to estimate the performance of the wastewater treatment plant of SIDI MEROUANE(MILA) through the data analysis stemming from the surveillance of this plant and the monitoring of the hydraulic load. The physico-chemical parameters of pollution (temperature, pH, conductivity, suspended solids, biological oxygen demand BOD, chemical oxygen demand COD, ammonia-N, Nitrate, total nitrogen, orthophosphates ) were analyzed for a period which runs from January 2014 to April 2015. The obtained results revealed that hydraulic and pollution loads BOD and COD Was less then the rated capacity of the wastewater treatment plant. Additionally, the removals of the polluting loads in term of BOD, COD and suspended solids were in compliance with the discharge standards but the elimination of nitrogen and phosphorus was not enough . For the preservation of the environment, or for possible reuse of treated water, we suggest the addition of two plants lagoons for a further reduction in nitrogen pollution and phosphorus.
