Abstract: Urban flooding has become a major issue of concern and raises constant worries among policymakers and various stakeholders. In this context, we conducted an in-depth study aimed at protecting the city of El Sarouel, located in the commune of El Bouni, wilaya of Annaba, against floods caused by the watercourses. The main objective of this study is to manage these watercourses to minimize the risks of flooding. We first defined the study area to plan an appropriate rehabilitation. Subsequently, a hydrological study was carried out to determine the flood flows and assess the risks. The main problems and dangers related to the watercourses were identified, allowing us to propose suitable solutions. The study also included a comprehensive analysis of the project, including the design of essential and secondary installations. Finally, by using tools such as HEC-RAS, we were able to model flooding scenarios and delineate the areas most at risk. The project aims at a feasible solution integrated into the urban environment, thereby ensuring effective protection for the city of El Sarouel. We also determined the estimated cost for the implementation of this project
