Abstract: The objective of our study is the design of a wastewater treatment plant for the city of Birine, located in the wilaya of Djelfa. This initiative aims to protect the natural environment and public health, as well as to reuse the treated wastewater for agricultural purposes. The treatment plant processes wastewater through low load activated sludge, with a treatment capacity planned for 84,948 equivalent inhabitants by 2039, and an expansion by 2054 to increase this capacity to 120,357 equivalent inhabitants. The wastewater from the city of Birine is conveyed by gravity to the plant via a combined sewer system.
