When designing a drinking water supply network, the possible risks of water hammer mustbe studied and quantified in order to set up the necessary protections, especially in the caseof backflow. For these cases of backflow, the water hammer arrestor air tank is the most common andeffective solution to remedy the water hammer phenomenon. Several methods have been developed to size this device with a variable degree of accuracy, which implies that a good choice of method leads to a good sizing.en_US
