Thermal desalination is the primary unconventional source of water in the majority of arid and desert countries, namely the Middle East. The most frequently used techniques are solar distillation (SD), which exploits renewable solar energy, and MSF distillation for sequential distillation, which exploits heat generated generally by fossil combustion, sometimes coupled to a thermal power plant. The objective of this work is to present the functioning of the two techniques of solar distillation and MSF.en_US
