Abstract: In Algeria, the issue of the lack of water is more and more felt as it represents a big problem for the sectors concerned. Relevant to this, and as part of the national strategy regarding promotion of the hydraulic sector by the mobilization of water resources, several studies have been made through the national territory for the construction of dams, among which the one dealt with in this work, i.e. the tributary of Wadi Corso to Ben Merzouga (municipality of Corso, Wilaya of Boumerdès) whose settled waters are intended for the irrigation of farmlands. The study of this dam consists in investigating, first, its geology and hydrology, then the several variants that are likely to be implanted on site. To end with the organization of the site and the impact on the environment.
