Abstract: The city of Béchar has huge hydro-agricultural, mining and tourism potentialities. The hydrology of the region is characterized by irregular flows and violent floods that cause particularly destructive floods which characterize the hydrology of the region. As a consequence, the national agency of dams and transfers proposed to release the dam of IGLI in the wilaya of Bechar in order to increase the capacity of water supplies and to satisfy the needs of irrigation perimeters in the region. Thus, we have carried out in-depth studies which include many axes, in particular geological, topographical and hydrological ones. We looked at two different types of spillways and in the end the best and the cheapest was chosen; then we have studied the rest of the ancillary works and we finished with an impact study.
