The problematic of natural risks in general and floods in particular is a moderne issue that has important effects worldwide and especially in algeria, where in the last years major catastrophic floods have been marked. Indeed, the management of these risks is becoming more and more a necessity which must include all the actors and all possible available means. The present work consists in carrying out the study of protection of the urban pole Bir nsa in the city of Sétif (W. Sétif), against floods. For that it becomes necessary to propose an effective arrangement in order to limit the damage. Within this framework, several axes were studied: the detailed description of the zone in order to understand the generation of the flow and their transfer to the outlet, the analysis of the maximum daily precipitations, the determination of the flow of the 100-year flood, the topographic and hydraulic study to carry out a simulation with the HEC-RAS software and a description of the development variants and the proposed protection structures. At the end of this work, a description of the proposed layout variants in order to be able to choose the most suitable from a technical and economic point of view.en_US
