Abstract: The objective of this study is to design a hydraulic system to allow the passage of floods of Allala River crossing the TENES city, by controlling the maximum level reached by the flood and to ensure the safety of the properties and the people living in the inner city. To do so, one should begin by describing all the features of the study area and mention some of catastrophic events that have struck the city. Then, a very detailed hydrological study, which summarizes the morphological and rainfall aspects of the Oued Allala watershed was established. Subsequently, we determined the design flood for return periods of 100 years. The HEC-RAS 5.0.7 software was used to model the water levels for different locations of Allala Wadi, using them to define flood-prone areas and flow depth maps. From these maps, it was possible to locate the areas at risk of an overflow on a long section of 3.5 km within the inner Ténès city. The obtained simulation results helped us to choose the appropriate protection variants corresponding to each location of the Wadi.
