Abstract

This study, aims at revealing me importance in developing agriculture especialy in our case (the semi-arid area) were rainfall is insufficient and erratic. This implies the introduction of new irrigation techniques such as sprinkler to control the amount of water used and limit percolation losses and evaporation. But before that, we must go through an irrigation network from the dam of Sidi M'Hamed Ben Taiba to the irrigation terminals. Finally, we recommend farmers to use these new irrigation techniques and introduce them in large irrigation schemes for agricultural intensification in Algeria.
