In our study, a comparison was made of the physicochemical and biological characteristics, of the water treated by the U850 liquid effluents treatment, unit of the Sidi Rezine refinery, and that of the makeup water, which currently supplies the boilers with the aim of reuse, the following conclusions emerge: The quality of the water treated at unit 850 meets Algerian standards for industrial discharges. An overrun in the physicochemical characteristics of this purified water compared to the standards for reuse of water as a make-up in the steam production circuits, which has led us to use granulated activated carbon filtration. An economic evaluation was carried out in order to determine the gain made after the recycling operation of this appreciable quantity of treated water, which is of the order of 4500 m3 / d costing approximately 44 million Algerian dinars annually with a cost of investment of 15 million Algerian Dinars. This study has shown us that reuse of water also makes it possible to comply with regulations, protect the environment and optimize water consumption.en_US
