Abstract: In Algeria, the volume of waste water which drains into valleys, seas and oceans is increasing. This negative situation has had serious repercussions on the health of citizens and has led to an increase in the phenomenon of environmental pollution. This is the case of the municipality of Sidi Ali in the state of Mostaganem, whose dirty water is discharged directly into the valley, without any prior treatment. The objective of this project is to establish a waste water treatment plant at the municipality of Sidi Ali in order to preserve the natural environment and public health. Relevant to this, a wastewater treatment plant has been sized using activated sludge for two horizons: the first horizon will make it possible to treat the wastewater of nearly 40000 equivalent inhabitants in 2031 while the second horizon 2051 (extension) corresponds to an increase in the initial capacity of the station, i.e. 49257 inhabitants equivalent
