Abstract: Due to the impact of climate change, which has resulted in a significant decrease in precipitation and a decline in groundwater levels, substantial efforts are being to search for alternative water sources. Like the desalination of seawater and the development of wastewater treatment techniques for their reuse in agricultural and industrial purposes. The primary objective of this study is to assess the performance of a wastewater treatment station using the activated sludge technology in Salamandre, located in the Mostaganem province. This will be achieved by examining the quality of the treated wastewater. To accomplish this objective, a comprehensive analysis of the physical, chemical, and bacteriological parameters of the treated water was conducted. The results of this analysis were compared to internationally recognized quality standards for irrigation This assessment revealed certain deficiencies in the quality of the treated water, leading to the proposal of implementing a tertiary treatment system for the station. This system would enable the reuse of treated water for irrigating agricultural lands.
