The issue of pretreatment in the context of the Corso desalination plant revolves around the need to maximize the efficiency of the preliminary steps before the seawater desalination process. The scarcity of freshwater resources in this region requires optimizing pretreatment operations to minimize costs, reduce environmental impact, protect membranes, and ensure the production of high-quality freshwater. Specific challenges include selecting the most suitable filtration and sedimentation technologies. This work aims to address these issues by proposing practical solutions to improve the pretreatment chain of the Corso desalination planten_US
