Abstract

In Algeria, the volume of wastewater discharged into rivers, seas and oceans without treatment is increasing, and this negative situation has had serious repercussions on the health of citizens, contributing to the worsening of environmental pollution. Our work consists of sizing the various hydraulic structures of a wastewater treatment plant in the MESSAAD valley in order to preserve the environment, protect public health and reuse this treated wastewater in the agricultural sector. The dimensioning of the station was designed for two horizons. The first involves the treatment of wastewater by 2040, with a treatment capacity of 240,705 inhabitants. The second is to expand the plant to increase wastewater treatment capacity to 352,900 residents by 2053.
