Etude des variantes de l'évacuateur de crues du barrage de Cherchar (w. Skikda)

Abstract

The objective of this study is to determine the spillway size to allow the floods passage through the Cherchar dam on the Cherchar River (Skikda), whose capacity is (5.15 Hm3), by controlling the maximum level reached by the flood: the rating at the normal level (100.68 mNGA) and a forced volume level rating (104.04 mNGA), in order to assure the safety of the people living in the downstream and their properties. The work aims to define the geomorphologic and climatic parameters of the Cherchar watershed, followed by a geotechnical and hydrological study of the dam site. Accordingly, this permits the identification of the discharge dimensioning with a sizing flow of (945.85 m3/s). Two variants of the spillway, the first variant is the lateral flood spillway with a frontal entanglement and the second variant is the lateral spillway with lateral entanglement, were studied at the end the cheapest variant which is the first one was chosen
