As part of the irrigation program of the Wilaya of Bouira, we studied the network of the CHORFA irrigated sector which belongs to the irrigation perimeter of Oued Sahel, especially the branch of the main pipe which passes through the other sectors of the perimeter. Chorfa covers an area of 420ha including 412ha cultivated in cereals, market gardens and trees, mainly. The choice of crops to be grown was conditioned by the soil, climatological characteristics and existing irrigation methods, namely sprinkling and drip. The big quantity of salt present in irrigation water plays a role too in choosing crops and requires desalinationen_US
