dc.description.abstractThe aim of this work is to develop a hydraulic system for the protection of the town of Oued Rihane west of Khemis Miliana and the explosives factory Onex, by determining the maximum heights of floodwater to ensure the safety of material and human resources. The study comprises several essential stages: a description of the characteristics of the study area, followed by a geological and geotechnical study to determine the properties of the soil. Next, a detailed hydrological study was carried out to analyse rainfall and determine the maximum flow of floodwater. Using HECRAS software, hydraulic modelling was used to identify the areas at risk of flooding and to assess the risks. Based on the results of the simulation, various protection options were proposed, and the most technically and economically appropriate option was selected for further study.en_US
