The objective of this study is to design a floodgate for the Guenitra dam in Skikda, which has a capacity of 43.15 million cubic meters. The main goal is to control the maximum water levels under normal and crisis conditions while ensuring the safety of residents downstream. To achieve this, the study involved the analysis of the watershed characteristics, site geology, and hydrology. The required design flow rate was calculated at 1491 cubic meters per second. Two floodgate options were considered, and the first, which was more cost-effective, was selected. This project is crucial for the safety of residents downstream of the Guenitra dam, and the choice of the floodgate variant must adhere to strict criteria, including cost and compliance with safety standardsen_US
